Kayakers in Dingle came face-to-face with a huge (but harmless) basking shark

“Hey guys, how’s it going?”

TWO PEOPLE CAME amazingly close to a massive basking shark yesterday while kayaking in Dingle, Co Kerry.

In a GoPro video from one of the kayakers, we see nothing but calm water on the surface, but this is lurking beneath:

Basking sharks are harmless, but still. ARRRGHH.

Speaking to The Irish Examiner, kayaker Noel O’Leary said the 20ft-long shark “seemed curious with the kayaks” and came very close. Watch:
